The president discussed the issue Tuesday when a Nexstar reporter interviewed him at the White House . “The answer is yes,” Trump said when asked if Americans should wait for another stimulus check.
“We are working on another stimulus package and I think it will happen very soon.”
According to the information, Trump said he is working with Congress on the details of what will be the next economic relief from the coronavirus pandemic.
On Monday, Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell hinted there will be a new round of checks in the future, although he hinted that the priority will be people who earn less than $ 40,000.
Congress is in recess at the moment. Negotiations for a new stimulus package would start on July 20.
Democrats passed the HEROES Act in the House of Representatives, but the bill stalled in the Senate due to the Republican majority. The legislation proposes another check for $ 1,200 to the population. Families could receive up to $ 6,000.
